The search for answers finds little relief
There are signs of struggle.
You are in a constant battle against your mind and cannot fathom how others have a blank mind.
At times, it may seem like you have multiple conversations, images, or music happening simultaneously.
It is hard to organize all your thoughts along with all of the stuff outside of your head. You find it difficult to stay focused and complete any project for school, work, or hobbies.
Although you want to be on time, be motivated, finalize projects, and complete tasks, it is hard.
I’m curious about how many self-help books you have read or how many hours of Google research you have endured. Maybe you came across a TikTok or Instagram reel that caused you to pause. Perhaps in this TikTok or Instagram reel, they were sharing their ADHD story.
Did you find that you truly connected with their experience? Have you ever wondered if you have ADHD? I can imagine all the questions, thoughts, and emotions this may have created.
Maybe you have been diagnosed with ADHD, and even with medication, you are struggling with low motivation, a roller coaster of emotions, and a list of incomplete chores. You know medication isn’t magic, but you don’t understand why you continue to struggle with some of the basics.
Answers and relief await you.
Anxiety
The facade conceals reality.
You appear organized, put together, hardworking, and energetic to others. Of course, that’s how you want to appear.
But internally, your mind is a discombobulated mess of worries, self-deprecating thoughts, and responsibilities. Are you… Anxious?
You can’t remember if you matched your socks this morning or the last time you ate. Working late is common for you because you are often helping others before completing your work.
You don’t have the energy to be social, but it is a great escape from your swirling mind.
Nothing works.
You try not to worry. People tell you, “It’s going to be okay,” and “Don’t worry about it.”
How do you even do that? If only you could control all the intruding thoughts. You try to stop them by staying busy with work, watching TV, listening to podcasts, and going out with friends. Unfortunately, these diversions haven’t been working.
The more you try to avoid or push away these thoughts, the more they return with a vengeance.
Welcome to anxiety.
Anxiety is a pesky, determined, and false narrative. It has a skill of taking over your mind and, at times, your body.
Anxiety can show up in many forms, including obsessive thinking, rumination, difficulty breathing, headaches, sleeplessness, irritability, and avoiding people, places, and enjoyable activities.
It is exhausting, scary, and isolating.
Relief from anxiety is possible.
I know anxiety. It visits me, too, on a personal level. As a professional with 20-plus years working in the mental health profession, I witness, learn, and understand how anxiety interrupts life.
Sure, we can swap stories about our anxiety experiences, but that is not going to give you the relief you seek. How about I share practical tools to manage and understand your anxious mind? You can easily incorporate the strategies I share with you into your life.
Those strategies can help you experience the calm and quiet you pursue because you have learned to overcome anxiety.

Mindfulness
Overreacting robs you of peace of mind
Are you on an emotional rollercoaster? Look for signs that answer this question.
As you intensely focus on a project, something interrupts you, and you can feel your blood boil.
While driving along, happily singing some tunes, someone cuts you off. Now, you find yourself screaming curse words.
Having a good time hanging with friends, laughing at some silly story you told. Now you start crying for NO REASON.
What changes with mindfulness?
Mindfulness helps you live in the present.
Its hard to live in the moment.
Feeling connected to the people in your life is challenging. You spend time with them but remain stuck in your head to the point that you aren’t present, causing you to miss parts of the conversation.
Then, you start to worry that they may be mad at you, and this worry begins to spiral. It seems impossible to get the worrying out of your head. Cue the self-hating comments.
Self-criticism makes it challenging to overcome the emotions you feel, thus making it hard to enjoy friends and events that should enrich your life.
How does Mindfulness work? I can start by saying Mindfulness calms your Amygdala. But that might not mean much to you.
The Amygdala is a significant part of the brain that oversees our fear responses. When we can calm our Amygdala with mindful activities, we can use our prefrontal cortex, which is responsible mainly for thought-out responses.
Think of it as not reacting in the fight, flight, freeze, or faun response. You are consciously responding with your knowledgeable brain.
A calmer brain helps expand your self-awareness because you can understand the connection between your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors.
With a calmer brain, you can engage in all the fun antics you create with your people and respond thoughtfully to friends, family, and yourself.
Mindfulness allows you to place experiences in a context that keeps you from having knee-jerk reactions to stimuli, such as being cut off in traffic or interrupted.
When I teach you how to incorporate Mindfulness into your life, you will see and feel its transformative powers.
Please set up a Discovery Call today, and let me help you learn some basic techniques designed to help you be more mindful of the present.
Grief Therapy for Pet Loss
Unbreakable bond.
The bond you share with your animal companion is profound. When that connection is severed, the journey of grief can unfold in many unexpected ways. Whether it’s the heart-wrenching farewell you face at the end of their life, the upheaval of a move, shifts in personal relationships, or even the chaos of a natural disaster, pet loss is deeply personal and often isolating.
Sorrow is ongoing.
Your grief is more than a passing emotion. The grief of pet loss deserves recognition and honor. The waves of sadness that crash over you after saying goodbye to your beloved friend are valid and crucial to your healing process. It’s important to allow yourself to feel these emotions fully. The grief and emotions you feel reflect the deep bond you shared.
It can be easy to feel isolated or overwhelmed in moments like these. Remember, you are not navigating this alone—I understand the grief that comes with the loss of a beloved pet.
Weighing difficult choices.
The journey of caring for a beloved pet includes weighing difficult choices. Grief is a complex tapestry of emotions intricately woven with threads of heartache, anticipation, and reflection. It does not merely begin at the moment of loss. Your grief encompasses the emotional turmoil and uncertainty that led up to that pivotal moment.
If you are facing the heart-wrenching task of making decisions about your pet’s well-being, you will grapple with a myriad of feelings—fear, guilt, and sadness. These feelings intermingle with the implications of your choices. The decision to say goodbye to a cherished companion is never easy. This is a moment filled with anguish and love, where you balance your desire to alleviate their suffering with the pain of letting go. Each option feels monumental, and the fear of making the wrong choice can be paralyzing.
There are moments when you find yourself at a crossroads you never anticipated. Relocating or changing circumstances may lead to difficult decisions about your pet’s future. The uncertainty of what lies ahead can amplify your grief. Questions swirl: Will my pet adapt to a new environment? Will they be happy? Can I provide the same level of care and affection in a different setting? Each question adds another layer to the emotional weight.
Your loss is real & valid.
It’s essential to acknowledge that your feelings matter. Many may not grasp the true depth of your loss. Often, they may minimize your grief with phrases like “it’s just a pet.” I understand the sting of these words. Having cherished many pets throughout my life, I’ve felt the sharp pangs of grief and the guilt that can accompany such decisions. The journey of grief is personal yet shared among many.
Begin healing.
Remember, it’s okay to grieve and seek help. Take the time necessary to heal, even as you carry the memory of your beloved pet in your heart. Every thread in the tapestry of grief is significant. Embrace your emotions, honor your loss, and know it’s okay to feel what you feel.
You are not alone; together, we can find healing amidst the heartache.
